G20 Chaos: Military making arrests in Pittsburgh? 3

Posted on September 25, 2009 by Sharon

UPDATE: I just watched a video that makes it clear that camo-clad guardsmen are present in Pittsburgh. You can view that video here.

250909topThis photo has appeared at several websites, and it clearly shows the arrested man on the ground and the civilian car in the background. Odd that the camo men look so ‘casual’. Are these guardsmen (no helmut or insignia), or are they perhaps Wackenhut?

Original post:

WARNING: Strong language — The video below shows men in military camo uniforms ‘arresting’ a G20 protester and forcing the man into a civilian vehicle.

Tony Blair meets with Pope Benedict XVI

On August 27, 2009, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair spoke at a gathering called the Rimini Meeting. According to its own website:

With an average attendance of over 700,000, the Rimini Meeting – held annually since 1980 and lasting one week in the second half of August – is the world’s biggest summer festival of encounters, exhibitions, music and spectacle.

The event is unique of its kind: an association that for 29 years has sought to create points of contact between experiences and people of different faiths and cultures who share a positive desire for knowledge and reciprocal enhancement.

The Meeting is a great social event, a festive happening, a place where we celebrate the earthly glory of God as creator and friend. But it is above all a gratuitous gesture: thousands of people, of all ages and social backgrounds, give of their time and energy to create the event. The cultural discourse that unfolds there is just one of the fruits.

This year marked the 30th such gathering, and it’s clear from the above words that the heart of the Rimini message tracks closely with Blair’s ecumenical, works-based, Faith Foundation. Read the rest of this entry →

GOP Not Allowed to Say ‘Government-Run Healthcare’ 2

Posted on July 24, 2009 by Sharon

Since when does the Franking Commission get to censor what representatives get to say?  When House Republicans wanted to hold a ‘town hall’ meeting via telephone, the Franking Commission required that they submit the language of their ‘phone announcement’ before proceeding:

“What we proposed as language was as follows, ‘House Democrats unveiled a government-run health care plan,’” Carter said.  “Our response from Franking was, ‘You cannot use that language.  You must use, ‘The House majority unveiled a public option health care plan,’ which is Pelosi-speak or ‘just last week the House majority unveiled a health care plan which I believe will cost taxpayers…’”

RUSSIAN President Dmitry Medvedev and other world leaders were presented gold ‘World Currency’ coin at this week’s G8 summit in L’Aquila, Italy.

“In all likelihood something similar could appear and it could be held in your hand and used as a means of payment,” he told reporters. “This is the international currency.”

The gold coin is the brainchild of The United Future World Currency Project. Read the rest of this entry →
