RECENTLY, I HAD A DREAM. Now, I’ve been experiencing what I refer to as ‘important’ dreams for most of my life. They occur when I least expect it, and the subject matter is rarely cheerful.
Take for instance, a dream that came to me on January 9, 2009. I recorded the dream in detail in my computer diary immediately upon waking. I then sent this description to two friends:
I dreamt that I was visiting Washington DC — perhaps I lived close to it. I remember seeing large books in a major, domed building that looked like a mausoleum — in fact, a cemetery was also housed inside and out. Honored dead.
Great books by Hamilton and Jefferson and Franklin, original documents, collections in bound volumes stood on shelves like end caps in a grocery store. I remember thinking that these should be protected. No one seemed to care.
Later in the dream, I was close by, visiting a friend when a great storm blew in — I could see the domed building from our window — the winds and rains blew with hurricane force, and literally knocked the domed building off its foundations. Read the rest of this entry →
